Making the perfect cup of tea is easy if you know how… and it ony takes a couple of minutes. First start by making sure fresh water is in your kettle. If there’s water already in there throw it out, boiling water twice is not good!!
Once you have enough water in the kettle for however many people you are making for you are ready to put it on boil.
While it’s boiling take a normal sized cup, and put around 1/3 inch milk in the bottom of the cup.
When the kettle is boiled pour the water in the cup, and immediately follow with the tea bag, it diffuses best when the water is at its hottest.
Allow the bag to sit in the cup for 10-20 seconds, then give the cup a bit of a stir. Depending on how you like your tea (the darker the stronger, the lighter, the milkier), you are aiming for a golden brown colour. The stir will settle the milk, water and tea, giving you a better idea of what the colour is.
Tip: Don’t SQUEEZE the tea bag against the side of the cup to hurry things up. Let the tea diffuse naturally.
Once your happy take the tea bag out, and put some sugar in if needed. Don’t leave it too long before adding the sugar because it disolves better in hot water.
Then, with or without sugar, stir.
Take the spoon out and serve on a saucer with a biscuit… perfect
Enjoy!
